My Aliens Will Speak English

The next race we will encounter

Ewoks ftw

I have grown accustomed to hearing English in some form or another.

I discover this due to the fact that my parents tend to mix English in with a host of other Indian languages when conversing with each other. I have no clue what language they ever speak, but I can at least identify the point they’re trying to get across.

English is the most dispersed language throughout the globe. If you go down to Mexico, there will be some part of the English Language integrated into their language. If I went to parts of Africa, I would be guaranteed that I would run into people who spoke even a little English.

English has become, essentially, the standard language to communicate ideas to a community.

The weird thing is, English is one of the most confusing, and among the more difficult languages to learn. Yet I’ve grown accustomed to foreigners speaking in at least broken English.

This is why, if the human race is ever to meet a group of sentient Aliens, I  am probably going to expect them to learn English. Not only that, but I’m probably gonna expect them to have some form of English (or any Romance Language) already intertwined with their language, no matter how many Alien Movies/TV series tell me otherwise.

I’m not alone. Seriously, when one of you guys imagine sentient Aliens, nobody ever thinks about the language; they are always obsessed with the graphic details. Many people automatically substitute a form of a pre-existing language that they are well-aware and exposed to.

That would totally make our job a lot easier. And we want our jobs easier. That would be nice.

Of course, evolution could always screw something up and not give our alien friends the ability to speak.

…..

…………..

That would suck.
